چکیده
As the use of more sustainable natural fibres and bio-based resins in fibre reinforced polymers (FRPs) becomes widespread, their susceptibility to damage due explosive detonation needs be evaluated. In this paper, flax jute FRP panels were blast tested compared equivalent mass glass panels. Comparisons made between FRPs manufactured using a synthetic Prime 20 epoxy Super Sap resin containing raw materials. The transient measurements revealed that all exhibited high-peak displacements viscously damped elastic vibrations. results showed predominance strength stiffness, lesser influence system. presented modified non-dimensional analysis approach could extended predict peak displacement during events future. failure mode progression for each panel type was identified, providing unique detailed insights designers protection engineers. work should prove valuable engineers considering effects detonations on structures FRPs.

Behaviour of fibre reinforced concrete slabs
This paper presents a comparison of the properties of concrete slabs when two types of fibres are added. One specimen had no fibres and acted as a control specimen. The remaining four specimens had steel and polypropylene fibres added in the volumetric ratio of 0.5% and 1.0%. The dimensions of the slab specimens were 820×820×80 mm and were supported by four rollers at their edges. A displacemen...
متن کاملInfluence of carbon fibre-reinforced polymers reinforcing on the seismic behaviour of timber-framed walls with fibre-plaster sheathing boards
This paper provides an experimental analysis of timber-framed walls, coated with carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP) strengthened fibre-plaster boards. The presented wall elements are usually used as main bearing capacity elements in the construction of prefabricated multi-level timber residential buildings. Since the tensile strength of fibre-plaster sheathing boards (FPB) is approximately...
متن کاملMechanical Behaviour of Sisal Fibre Reinforced Cement Composites
Emphasis on the advancement of new materials and technology has been there for the past few decades. The global development towards using cheap and durable materials from renewable resources contributes to sustainable development. An experimental investigation of mechanical behaviour of sisal fibrereinforced concrete is reported for making a suitable building material in terms of reinforcement....
متن کاملIntroduction of Fibre-Reinforced Polymers − Polymers and Composites: Concepts, Properties and Processes
Fibre-reinforced polymer(FRP), also Fibre-reinforced plastic, is a composite material made of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibres. The fibres are usually glass, carbon, or aramid, al‐ though other fibres such as paper or wood or asbestos have been sometimes used. The poly‐ mer is usually an epoxy, vinylester or polyester thermosetting plastic, and phenol formaldehyde resins are still in use...
متن کاملIn-vitro MRI detectability of interbody test spacers made of carbon fibre-reinforced polymers, titanium and titanium-coated carbon fibre-reinforced polymers.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how different materials affect the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) detectability of interbody test spacers (ITS). We evaluated the post-implantation MRI scans with T1 TSE sequences for three different ITS made of titanium, carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP) and titanium-coated CFRP, respectively. The main target variables were total artefact vo...
